Wilson Named to USA Baseball CNT Training Camp Roster

DURHAM, N.C. – NC State Freshman All-American Will Wilson has been added to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp Roster, announced Tuesday by the organization.
Wilson is one of 20 training camp invitees competing for a spot on the Collegiate National Team, which will be composed of a 28-man roster to compete in a series against Chinese Taipei before its final 24-man roster will compete in international friendship series against Cuba and Japan.
The twenty training camp players will join 14 previously identified athletes in a five-game series with teams in the Coastal Plain League and the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League before the 24-man roster is announced on Monday, June 26.

A native of Kings Mountain, N.C., Wilson was one of just two Wolfpack players to start all 61 games and one of a few freshmen in the ACC to start all its team's games. He started 57 games at second base, two at shortstop and a pair at designated hitter. Wilson finished the year with a .300 batting average to go along with 72 hits, tying with classmate Brad Debo for the second most on the team.
He tied for the ACC lead with 21 doubles, the second-highest total for any freshman in the nation. Wilson smashed eight home runs to rank second among ACC rookies in that category. In addition, he tallied 48 RBIs to pace all ACC freshmen and finish second on the team.
He was also an ACC All-Freshman Team Selection.
USA Baseball will stream all five games of the Chinese Taipei and Cuba series in North Carolina on  For more information on the Collegiate National Team, follow on Twitter at @USABaseballCNT.
